Families for Better Care

Families for Better Care is a non-profit citizen’s advocacy group working to improve the quality of care and the quality of life provided in nursing homes and other long-term care facilities.   We collaborate with residents, family members, caregivers, ombudsmen and other senior organizations to facilitate mutual support, communication, education, and the exchange of ideas. We believe that through family involvement and resident empowerment, nursing homes can provide not only high quality, person-centered care but also a satisfying, homelike living environment.

Colorado Department of Health and Environment

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment oversees all nursing homes within the State of Colorado. This link will allow you to view the inspection and occurrence findings for all the nursing homes in Colorado. These inspection and occurrence findings show whether or not the nursing homes are in compliance with Federal and State regulations governing nursing homes.

Pennsylvania Department of Health Nursing Home Locater

The Pennsylvania Department of Health serves in part as Pennsylvania’s regulatory agency for licensing all long-term care and skilled-nursing facilities in the Commonwealth. This link will allow you to select counties within the Commonwealth and the facilities that reside therein. This link will allow you to view Department of Health regulatory compliance surveys, including annual and complaint-based surveys.
